About robert

Robert is a fine art photographer working in natural light. He loves to wander the Cape Cod shores looking for beautiful light. He works out of his 1200 square foot studio in Pocasset, which is the most important place on earth to him. He facilitates the development and exposure of other fine art photographers through his publishing venture, Robert Manz Studio. You can see the work of those great artists, and some more of his, at www.robertmanzstudio.com.

Robert was raised in Pennsylvania, attended Archmere Academy, Harvard College, University of Michigan, Harvard University and Northeastern University.

He has an AB in History, an MA in History and an MS in Public Accounting.

He received his photography training as a photojournalist for the Harvard Crimson.

Robert has studied Medieval European History at the graduate level, audited Fortune 500 companies with Coopers and Lybrand, advised high tech companies on the commercialization of their technology as a partner in Helmer & Associates, linked multinational companies with the research activities of the Technical University of Budapest as Managing Director of Technos Hungary, Kft. and helped Hungarian game and software developers get contracts with European and American partners. He has also served the international science community as the Treasurer of the Marine Biological Laboratory.

He has lived in the Philippines, Iran, Hungary, and Ireland…. wishes he could have stayed more in Tuscany. He is a born citizen of the United States and a born out of country citizen of the Republic of Ireland, and thereby a citizen of the European Union.

Robert has been coming to Cape Cod all his life because of his grandparents’ house in Gray Gables and his first wife’s connection to Naushon Island. In 2000 Robert moved to Cape Cod and began practicing his photography as a full time professional artist.  His work has appeared on multiple covers of Cape Cod Life Magazine, and he has received various awards in artistic competitions.

More important than awards, he knows what he is trying to do as an artist, which is, through images, to share the fantasy and fantasies of being alive.

Some of Robert's artistic accomplishments are listed below.

2022

this one is in process, but, having recently become aware of his connection to the assassination of President Kennedy, in as much as he was married to a first cousin of Michael Paine, Robert is in the process of digesting as much evidence and commentary on that awful event and channeling it into a screenplay concerning the assassination. Stay tuned.
